Welcome to SHAC
SHAC is a Faribault community resource that brings parents the information they need about community funded programs for kids. It is also a resource for kids to find the community programs they are looking for to find “what to do” in the Faribault area. We also connect the community resources here in one place to create a network of programs that are all connected and working together.
What is SHAC?
The phrase, “So How Are the Children” communicates a belief that the health and well-being of the communities children reflects the health and well-being of the whole community.
Our children need to develop a wide range of positive life skills and pro-social behaviors in order to make healthy choices.
To spread the word that the health of our children is a vital importance to the community we promote a variety of efforts and avenues for youth voice within the Faribault community.
What does SHAC do?
With monthly youth service provider meetings, youth room space, youth information orientated website, and a city wide youth summit celebration we build capacity within the community to support the positive youth development and avenues for youth voice within the Faribault area.
We believe that the well-being of the communities children is a crucial indicator of the whole community and work to implement programs that meet the challenge of raising healthy children.
